A case has been filed in connection with the inhuman beating of 9-year-old Ismail Sikder in a madrasa in Khulna. His father Omar Faruk Sikder filed the case at the Sonadanga police station last Monday night. Madrasa teacher Hafez Abdur Rahman has been made an accused in the case filed under Section 70 of the Children's Act of 2013.

On the night of June 17, teacher Abdur Rahman beat Ismail severely because he could not study at the madrasa named Nurul Quran Tahfiz Academy located in Daktarpara under Sonadanga police station in the city. This caused blood clots in various parts of the child's brain and eyes. After the news about the matter was published in the media, severe criticism began in various quarters.

Omar Faruk Sikder said that his son was not informed about the matter even after 24 hours of the beating. He took him to the hospital two days later. After that, Ismail was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital for two days. The doctor said that if the blood in the brain does not move after taking medicine, an operation will have to be performed. He demanded justice for this brutal torture.

Sonadanga Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said that the madrasa teacher has been absconding since the incident. He has also been expelled from the madrasa. A drive has been launched to arrest him. Hopefully, he will be arrested soon.
