Madrasa teacher gave child Tk 5 to hide rape in Patuakhali, sent to jail
A madrasa teacher, Md Ibrahim, has been arrested in Dumki, Patuakhali, over allegations of raping a young student. He was later sent to jail through a court. The accused teacher allegedly gave the child Tk 5 on condition that she would not tell anyone about the incident.
The incident took place at a madrasa in Muradia Union of the upazila on Monday (July 27) morning. Locals detained the accused teacher after the incident and informed police, who then arrested him.
According to local and eyewitness sources, around 6am, teacher Ibrahim called the child student, a resident of the Shrirampur Ashrayan Project in Dumki upazila, into a room when she was alone and allegedly raped her. Locals claimed he then threatened the child and gave her Tk 5 to keep the matter secret.
However, the child told her family after returning home. Locals later detained the accused teacher, tied him to a tree and informed police. Police arrived at the scene and took him to the police station.
Denying the allegations, teacher Ibrahim said, "I have been falsely implicated through a conspiracy."
Dumki Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Selim Uddin said the victim's family has filed a case. The accused has been arrested in the case and produced before the court, which sent him to jail.
