The eight-year-old rape victim from Magura, who was on life support at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, has been shifted to the paediatric intensive care unit. Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the information in a notification. The third grader was visiting her elder sister's house in Magura town as her school was closed for Ramadan when she was raped there early Wednesday. Police arrested her sister's husband, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law following the incident. They were later sent to jail. Three of them were accused in the rape case, and the father-in-law, the prime accused, was shown arrested under Section 54 as he was detained before filing the rape case.

মাগুরায় ধর্ষণের শিকার হওয়া আট বছরের শিশুটিকে বর্তমানে ঢাকার সম্মিলিত সামরিক হাসপাতালের (সিএমএইচ) পেডিয়াট্রিক ইনটেনসিভ কেয়ার ইউনিট (পিআইসিইউ) বা শিশু নিবিড় পরিচর্যাকেন্দ্রে চিকিৎসাসেবা দেয়া হচ্ছে। রোববার (৯ মার্চ) দিবাগত রাতে আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তরের (আইএসপিআর) এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।&nbsp; আইএসপিআরের পরিচালক লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল সামি-উদ-দৌলা চৌধুরী আরও জানান, সিএমএইচের পেডিয়াট্রিক আইসিইউতে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছে শিশুটি। ভুক্তভোগীর পরিবারের তথ্যমতে, রমজানের জন্য স্কুল বন্ধ থাকায় বড় বোনের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে গিয়েছিল তৃতীয় শ্রেণির এই শিশু। সেখানে গত বুধবার রাতে ধর্ষণের শিকার হয় সে। এ ঘটনার পর তার বোনের স্বামী, শ্বশুর, ভাশুর এবং শাশুড়িকে গ্রেপ্তার করে পুলিশ। তাদের মধ্যে তিনজনকে ধর্ষণ মামলায় অভিযুক্ত করা হয়। জানা গেছে, ধর্ষণ মামলার প্রধান অভিযুক্ত শ্বশুর হিতু শেখকে মামলা দায়েরের আগে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয় বলে তাকে ৫৪ ধারায় গ্রেপ্তার দেখানো হয়। এর আগে শনিবার (৮ মার্চ) বাদী হয়ে মাগুরা সদর থানায় মামলা চারজনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা করেন শিশুটির মা।
