The physical condition of the 8-year-old girl from Magura, who was a survivor of rape, has worsened further, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser.

He provided this information during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday (March 12).

The press secretary said, "The physical condition of the child from Magura has further deteriorated today (Wednesday). Her CGS has dropped from four to three. The dilation of the brain stem and the pupil has decreased compared to yesterday. The doctors at CMH are making every effort to save her. We all pray for her recovery and request prayers on her behalf."

On March 5, the 8-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while visiting her sister's house.

Initially, she was admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital. However, as her condition worsened, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Since her condition did not improve, she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state on the night of Thursday.

Her condition deteriorated further, and she was placed on life support on the night of Friday.

Since the night of Saturday, the child has been receiving treatment in the Pediatric ICU at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
