Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam has offered a sincere apology for his earlier “divisive” comments and language. He also urged unity and patience among the forces that stood together during the July uprising.

Mahfuj Alam shared this message on Thursday afternoon (May 22) through a post titled “The Country is Greater Than Individual Ideals, Honor, and Emotions” on his verified Facebook page.

He wrote, “Unity among patriotic forces is crucial. I sincerely apologize for any previous remarks or language that may have created division. If I remain in government even for one more day, I intend to act with respect and sensitivity toward all forces involved in the uprising. I believe that by rejecting divisive slogans and outdated labels that portray large segments of people as enemies, we can move toward building a democratic and inclusive future.”

“The enemies of Bangladesh are both united and aggressive. Our sovereignty and democratic institutions are under serious threat. The patriotic citizens who stood together during the July uprising now face a prolonged test—one that demands unity and patience. We must pass this test,” he added.
