Lieutenant Colonel Md Mahmudul Hasan (psc) has taken charge as Director (Operations and Maintenance) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department. He has replaced outgoing Director Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury. According to the Fire Service media cell, he formally assumed his duties on Sunday, March 29. Mahmudul Hasan is a commissioned officer in the Infantry Corps of the Bangladesh Army. He earned his postgraduate degree in Defence Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals. He is also a graduate of the Defence Services Command and Staff College in Mirpur. In his new role, he will oversee the operations and maintenance of the country's firefighting and emergency service management systems.

ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স অধিদপ্তরের পরিচালক (অপারেশন ও মেইনটেন্যান্স) হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছেন লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মো. মাহমুদুল হাসান (পিএসসি)। তিনি সদ্য বিদায়ী পরিচালক লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মোহাম্মদ তাজুল ইসলাম চৌধুরীর স্থলাভিষিক্ত হয়েছেন। গত রোববার (২৯ মার্চ) তিনি আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করেন বলে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের মিডিয়া সেল থেকে জানানো হয়েছে। মাহমুদুল হাসান বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর পদাতিক কোরে কমিশনপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা। তিনি বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব প্রফেশনালস থেকে ডিফেন্স স্টাডিজ বিষয়ে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। এছাড়া তিনি মিরপুরের ডিফেন্স সার্ভিসেস কমান্ড অ্যান্ড স্টাফ কলেজের গ্র্যাজুয়েট। নতুন দায়িত্বে তিনি দেশের অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ও জরুরি সেবা ব্যবস্থাপনার অপারেশন ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ কার্যক্রম তদারকি করবেন।
