Main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha at 7:30 am at National Eidgah
The main congregation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha will be held at the National Eidgah at 7:30 am. However, if the weather is unfavorable, the main congregation will be held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 8 am, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has said.
Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mamun Al Morshed Chowdhury confirmed this information to the media on Wednesday (May 20).
He said that the decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting held recently at the meeting room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on the occasion of the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha. The ministries and organizations concerned have already started working to implement the decision taken in the meeting.
Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims in the country, will be celebrated on May 28. On this day, worshippers will offer two rakats of obligatory Eid prayers at the Eidgah and mosque and sacrifice animals to seek the pleasure of Allah.
The Dhaka South City Corporation will be responsible for the overall management of the main congregation. The main congregation at the National Eidgah is usually attended by people from different classes and professions, including the President, Prime Minister, ministers, state ministers, diplomats.
