Main suspect over attack on police in Chattogram

Police have detained the main suspect, Shakil, involved in the recent attack on law enforcement officers at Bandar police station in Chattogram city.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Bandar, Md. Amirul Islam, Shakil was apprehended from the Chandanaish area while trying to flee towards Dhaka along with his accomplice Didar.

During a press briefing held at Dampara Police Lines on Sunday, Md. Amirul Islam confirmed the arrest and disclosed that police recovered a homemade firearm, three rounds of ammunition, and an iron sickle from the suspects.

Also present at the briefing were DC Headquarters Faisal Ahmed, CMP Public Relations Officer Mahmuda Begum Saunia, and Bandar police station Officer-in-Charge Aftab Uddin.

Police said legal action is ongoing against the arrested individuals.
