Major reshuffle in administration, 8 officials transferred
The government has carried out a major reshuffle in various ministries, divisions and departments, transferring and posting eight officials of the ranks of deputy secretary, senior assistant secretary and assistant secretary.
The decisions were announced in separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration and other concerned divisions on Monday, June 8.
According to one notification, three deputy secretaries of the BCS (Administration) cadre were transferred to the Local Government Division on May 10 but did not join their new postings within the stipulated time. Consequently, they have been directed to leave their current workplaces and join their transferred posts by June 11. Failure to report by the deadline will result in them being considered immediately relieved or on 'stand release' from their current workplaces.
Among the officials in this list, Md Didarul Alam, deputy director of the Regional Public Administration Centre in Chattogram, has been posted as deputy director (local government) at the office of the Fen i District Administrator. Dr Md Sheikh Sadek, deputy secretary of the Health Services Division, has been transferred as deputy director (local government) at the office of the Noakhali District Administrator. Meanwhile, Miju Ferdousi Begum, deputy director at the Noakhali District Administrator's office, has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of Cumilla City Corporation.
In a separate directive, Md Firoz Mahmud, deputy secretary of the Local Government Division, has been transferred to the post of deputy secretary at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
In another order, Nayan Kumar Rajbanshi, additional district magistrate (senior assistant secretary) of Chuadanga, has been transferred as senior assistant secretary to the Ministry of Railways.
The government has also changed the postings of three officials of assistant secretary (non-cadre) rank. Among them, Md Mohiuddin Shamim, assistant director of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Heritage Conservation and Research Centre, has been posted as assistant secretary to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Additionally, Md Jahangir Alam, special duty officer (assistant secretary, non-cadre) of the Ministry of Public Administration, has been given the responsibility of assistant secretary at the same ministry.
