Making election perfect is now main challenge: Chief Adviser
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has remarked that making the election perfect is now the main challenge.
The Chief Adviser said the election campaign is progressing across the country in an enthusiastic, inspiring, and harmonious environment. The preparatory phase has been completed very well so far. "We are very happy. The challenge for us now is to make it perfect. Ensuring the vote is perfect—that is now our main challenge."
He made these remarks at a high-level meeting regarding election preparations held at the state guest house, Jamuna, on Saturday night, February 7. Later, Press Secretary Shafiul Alam conveyed his statement to journalists.
He said, "No one is using harsh words against anyone. No indecent behaviour is occurring. This is a very positive change for our political history and culture."
The Press Secretary said body-worn cameras have been provided to police. Out of nearly 43,000 polling stations across Bangladesh, 25,700 are being provided with these body-worn cameras. Regarding how these body cameras are working, at the beginning of today's meeting, the Chief Adviser spoke with personnel carrying body cameras at five randomly selected locations.
Shafiul Alam stated that the Election Protection App is now fully operational. This Election Protection App will only be used by officers and security officials assigned election duties. If there is any disturbance, commotion, or violence at or around any polling station, a message will be sent very quickly through the Election Protection App to various security forces, the Returning Officer, and the central Election Commission. As a result, the Election Commission and the forces involved in election work can intervene very quickly and bring the situation under control rapidly. This is the Election Protection App.
