Malawi Defence Force Commander meets Army Chief

General Paul Valentino Phiri, Commander of the Malawi Defense Force paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief General Walker-uz-Zaman.

The meeting was held at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday (February 3) morning.

During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and discussed various issues of cooperation in the existing good relations between the two countries and future progress. The Army Chief thanked the Malawi Defence Force Commander for meeting him.

Before meeting the Army Chief, the Malawi Defence Force Commander laid a wreath at Shikha Anirban. Later, a smart contingent of the armed forces gave him a guard of honour at the army camp and he planted a sapling there.

The Malawi Defence Force Commander arrived in Bangladesh on Sunday (February 2) on a 5-day official visit. During his visit, he is expected to visit several Bangladesh Army installations including the National Defense College, Defense Services Command and Staff College, Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training (BIPSOT), Cox's Bazar Area and FDMN Camp. The visit is expected to play an important role in enhancing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malawi.
