Malaysia denies entry to 96 Bangladeshis
In a targeted operation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Friday, 96 Bangladeshi nationals were among 131 foreigners refused entry into Malaysia.
The operation, which took place at Terminal 1, involved the screening of over 300 incoming passengers. Besides the 96 Bangladeshis, the agency also turned away 30 Pakistanis and five Indonesians, according to a statement released by AKPS on Monday, July 14.
Officials said the travelers were denied entry due to unclear accommodation arrangements, insufficient funds for their intended stay, and improper conduct at immigration counters. Some passengers claiming a month-long stay were found carrying only RM500, raising concerns over their true intentions.
“Protecting Malaysia’s borders remains our top priority,” an AKPS spokesperson said, adding that strict action would be taken against those attempting to enter with false information.
AKPS has urged all foreign visitors to ensure they meet all immigration requirements—including valid documentation, sufficient finances, and clear travel plans—to avoid being denied entry.
