Malaysia PM's video of Tarique Rahman with 'Mohajadu' soundtrack goes viral

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman went to Malaysia on his first state visit after taking charge. He held a private meeting with the country's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In the meeting that followed, various important issues of the bilateral relations between the two countries came up in an open discussion. The discussion focused on efforts to strengthen cooperation in various fields including trade and investment, energy, artificial intelligence (AI), digital economy, education, human capital, agriculture, halal industry and workforce management.

A video of Tarique Rahman's entire visit has been published on Anwar Ibrahim's verified Facebook page. The video, which was released on Tuesday morning, is now being discussed on the internet. Because the the video contains the soundtrack of 'Mohajadu jane' song by Bangladeshi musician Habib Wahid. This is the sixth song of the third season of Coke Studio Bangla and Habib's first song on Coke Studio Bangla.

The 2-minute 40-second clip covers the two leaders' bilateral meeting, a luncheon and cultural programmes, with Habib Wahid and Mehrnigari Rustam's song “Amar Bondhu Moha Jadu Jane” playing throughout. The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times in four hours. More than 5,500 netizens have commented on the video along with 15,000 shares.

Tajik artist Mehrnigari Rustam has sung the song 'Mahajadu' with musician and composer Habib Wahid. The lyrics of the song are written by poet Khojaz Mia, who was a disciple of Durbin Shah.

At one point the video cuts to a key moment from the talks where Anwar addresses the Rohingya crisis. "Through our common effort, we will work to resolve the predicament of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and also here," Anwar says in the clip.

"[We will] engage through ASEAN mechanisms with the Myanmar authorities to resolve part of the issue.”

Regarding the exchange of views on regional and international developments, Anwar Ibrahim said, ‘This requires a consistent approach of dialogue, peace and mutual respect.’ Expressing gratitude to Bangladesh as an important partner in South Asia, he said that there is still much potential for cooperation for economic development and the welfare of the people of both countries. He believes that this discussion will further strengthen Malaysia-Bangladesh relations and open up more opportunities for cooperation in the future.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left for Dalian, China, on Monday afternoon after a two-day official visit to Malaysia. He left for Dalian on a special Bangladesh Biman flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5 pm local time on Monday.
