Md. Alam Sheikh, 41, was allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of being a child thief at Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital. The incident took place in front of the hospital’s children’s ward around 11pm on Wednesday. Police arrested Mostafizur Rahman Ayan in connection with the case.

Police said Alam Sheikh was seen loitering in front of the children’s ward on Wednesday night, which aroused suspicion among the relatives of patients under treatment.
