Man electrocuted, wife dies while trying to save him

A man and his wife tragically died after being electrocuted in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram. The accident occurred in Baldipara area of ​​Ulipur Municipality around 2:30 pm on Wednesday (July 8).

The deceased are Abu Sayed, 68, of Baldipara village and his wife Rabeya Begum, 60.

According to police and local sources, Abu Sayed was electrocuted while touching a switch of the electrical board of his house in the afternoon. His wife Rabeya Begum was also electrocuted while trying to rescue him. Both died on the spot. Later, on receiving information, the police went to the spot and recovered the bodies.

Ulipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saeed Ibne Siddique said that the police went to the spot and prepared a preliminary investigation report. Necessary action will be taken after the next legal process.
