Man killed in Pabna road crash

A man named Montu Mia, 80, was killed in a truck accident in Bhangura, Pabna. The accident occurred around 9:15pm at the Collegepara intersection in the municipality on Monday night (March 30). He later died while undergoing treatment early Tuesday morning.

The deceased Montu Mia was a resident of Collegepara Mohalla of Bhangura Municipality and worked as a khadem at the local Baitun Noor Jame Mosque.

According to locals, he was seriously injured when a truck hit him on his way home after Isha prayers. Later, locals rescued him and took him to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated, he was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died there around 4am while undergoing treatment.

Bhangura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Mostafizur Rahman said that the truck was seized after the accident and taken into police custody. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
