The National Citizen Party (NCP) will announce its "Manifesto for Country Reconstruction" on August 3 at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, NCP Convener Nahid Islam has said.

The manifesto will include commitments to prosecute those responsible for the "July massacre," reform the political system, and draft a new constitution.

Nahid made the announcement during a road rally at Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Maidan in Joypurhat on Saturday (July 5), as part of the party’s ongoing eight-day "July March" across the northern region.

"Our struggle didn’t end with the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in 2024. This time, our movement is for systemic change — not just a change in power, but a change in the corrupt, mafia-run political structure," Nahid said. He added that the revolutionaries are still active, and a new vision for the nation will be presented on August 3.

The NCP's march is aimed at demanding justice for the victims of the July 2024 mass uprising and mobilizing public support for constitutional reform. On the fifth day of the march, Nahid Islam paid tribute to those who died during the movement in Joypurhat, including Shaheed Mehedi Hasan, Shaheed Rita Akhter, Shaheed Najibul Sarkar, and Shaheed Minhaj.

He also criticized the continuation of extortion, terrorism, and mafia influence in various parts of the country, asserting that there has been no real change in the political system over the past year.

At around 4:15pm, NCP leaders and activists held a rally after marching from CO Colony to the meeting venue. Senior NCP leaders including Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Northern Region Organizer Sarjis Alam, Southern Region Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasneem Zara, and Joypurhat District Coordinator Firoz Alamgir were present at the event.
