Man's body found hanging at under-construction building in Dhaka's Khilgaon

Police recovered the hanging body of a mason from an under-construction high-rise in Dhaka's Khilgaon on Wednesday (August 5).

The deceased was identified as Md. Arif Sardar, 22, a resident of Islampur upazila in Jamalpur. He had been living in a rented house in Manikdia Chairman Bari area of Sabujbagh and worked as a mason in the capital.

However, the cause of death yet to be determined.

According to police, Arif's body was found hanging from a rope tied to a ceiling fan hook inside a prayer room on the rooftop of a 10-storey building under construction on Road No. 6 in Uttar Nandipara at around 11:00am.

Following legal formalities, the body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Sub-Inspector Md. Nazrul Islam of Khilgaon Police Station said the exact cause of death remains unknown. Authorities are awaiting the autopsy report, while an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
