Maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3 due to a low-pressure area developing over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay near North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha. The system, identified at 6 a.m. Wednesday, is expected to strengthen, bringing gusty or squally weather to the North Bay and nearby coastal areas, according to the Meteorological Department. Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay and deep sea are urged to return to shore and navigate with caution until further updates.

উত্তর অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ ও দক্ষিণ ওডিশা উপকূলের অদূরে পশ্চিম-মধ্য বঙ্গোপসাগর ও সংলগ্ন উত্তর-পশ্চিম বঙ্গোপসাগরে একটি লঘুচাপ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। এর প্রভাবে চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার, মোংলা ও পায়রাসহ দেশের সব সমুদ্রবন্দরে ৩ নম্বর সতর্ক সংকেত দেখাতে বলেছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। বুধবার (১৩ আগস্ট) সকালে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তরের জারি করা এক সতর্কবার্তায় জানানো হয়, লঘুচাপটি আরও ঘনীভূত হতে পারে। এর ফলে উত্তর বঙ্গোপসাগরে বায়ুচাপের তারতম্য বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে, যা থেকে উপকূলীয় এলাকা ও সমুদ্রবন্দরের ওপর দিয়ে দমকা বা ঝোড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। এ অবস্থায় উত্তর বঙ্গোপসাগর ও গভীর সাগরে অবস্থানরত মাছ ধরার নৌকা ও ট্রলারগুলোকে পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেওয়া পর্যন্ত উপকূলের কাছাকাছি এসে সতর্কতার সঙ্গে চলাচল করার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।
