Authorities seized nearly 6,000 liters of illegally stored fuel from two factories in Bhola’s BSCIC industrial area during a joint operation Tuesday night (March 31).

The mobile court fined the factories a total of Tk 1,50,000.

The raid, conducted from 9pm to midnight, involved the Navy, police, and executive magistrates based on intelligence from the National Security Intelligence (NSI).

Officials recovered 3,974 liters of diesel from Khan Flower Attar Mill and 2,000 liters from Trishna Bakery. The storage room at Khan Flower Mill was sealed immediately.

Under the Petroleum Act, 2016, the factories were fined for unlicensed fuel storage—Khan Flower Mill Tk 1,00,000 and Trishna Bakery Tk 50,000.

Defaulting owners face imprisonment: one month for Md. Jamal Uddin Khan and seven days for Md. Juel.

Confiscated fuel will be sold at government rates, with proceeds deposited in the state treasury.

Tensions escalated when Khan Flower Mill’s owner and workers protested, obstructing the road and throwing debris. Navy personnel intervened to restore order.
