One more child has died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours (from 8am Thursday to 8am Friday), according to the Directorate General of Health Services. During the same period, 1,154 new suspected and confirmed measles cases were reported, of which 40 were confirmed. The information was provided in a press release from the DGHS on Friday, September 4. According to the DGHS, a total of 888 children have died with measles symptoms since March 15, while 99 have died from confirmed measles. The total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms now stands at 987. During this period, the total number of measles-related cases has reached 162,262, of which 19,567 are confirmed measles cases.

দেশে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় হামসদৃশ উপসর্গ নিয়ে আরও এক শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। একই সময়ে হাম ও হামসদৃশ উপসর্গে নতুন করে ১ হাজার ১৫৪ জন আক্রান্ত হয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে ৪০ জনের শরীরে হাম নিশ্চিত হয়েছে। শুক্রবার স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ৮টা থেকে শুক্রবার সকাল ৮টা পর্যন্ত এসব মৃত্যু ও আক্রান্তের তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তর জানিয়েছে, গত ১৫ মার্চ থেকে সারা দেশে হামসদৃশ উপসর্গ নিয়ে মোট ৮৮৮ শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে পরীক্ষায় হাম নিশ্চিত হওয়ার পর মারা গেছে ৯৯ জন। সব মিলিয়ে হাম ও হামসদৃশ উপসর্গে মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ৯৮৭ জনে। এ সময়ে হাম ও হামসদৃশ উপসর্গে আক্রান্তের মোট সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ১ লাখ ৬২ হাজার ২৬২ জনে। এর মধ্যে ১৯ হাজার ৫৬৭ জনের শরীরে হাম নিশ্চিত হয়েছে।
