Four children die with measles symptoms in 24 hours

Four more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 1,242 people were newly infected with measles.

The information was provided in the regular measles-related report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Friday afternoon, October 2.

The DGHS report said three children died with measles symptoms in Dhaka division alone in the last 24 hours. At the same time, another child died of confirmed measles in this division. With this, a total of 1,114 children have died from measles and its symptoms across the country from March 15 to October 2.

Meanwhile, measles symptoms appeared in 194,084 children in the country from March 15 to October 2 of the current year. During the same period, a total of 21,623 children were confirmed with measles.

On the other hand, a total of 172,021 children have been admitted to various hospitals across the country with measles symptoms from March 15 to date. Among them, 166,933 children have so far recovered and returned home.
