Meeting between Dr Yunus and Tarique brings relief for the nation: 12-Party Alliance
London, June 13 — The 12-Party Alliance has hailed the recent meeting between Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London as a significant breakthrough for Bangladesh’s political future. In a joint statement issued on Friday, alliance leaders described the meeting as a milestone on the path to restoring democracy and a source of hope for the nation.
They noted that the consensus reached to hold national elections before the upcoming Ramadan has eased political uncertainty and brought a sense of relief to the people.
The statement expressed gratitude to Dr. Yunus for shifting away from the previously discussed April timeline and working toward a consensus to complete essential reforms and judicial processes by early February. This, the alliance said, aligns with the aspirations of the nation and paves the way for timely elections.

We firmly believe that the goodwill and agreement between the head of the interim government and the country’s largest political party will ultimately lead to a victory for democracy, Bangladesh, and its people.”
