The nomination of Meghna Alam, the Ganodhikar Parishad-backed candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, has been declared valid for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election. The decision was announced on Saturday, January 3, in the morning after scrutiny of nomination papers for Dhaka metropolitan constituencies at Segunbagicha by the returning officer. Earlier, Meghna Alam, chairperson of the Miss Bangladesh Foundation, joined Ganodhikar Parishad and collected the party’s nomination form for the Dhaka-8 seat.

আসন্ন ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ঢাকা-৮ আসনে গণঅধিকার পরিষদের মনোনীত প্রার্থী মেঘনা আলমের মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। শনিবার (৩ জানুয়ারি) সকালে সেগুনবাগিচায় ঢাকা মহানগরীর আওতাধীন আসনগুলোর মনোনয়নপত্র যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে রিটার্নিং অফিসার তার মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ বলে ঘোষণা করেন। এর আগে, গণঅধিকার পরিষদে যোগ দেন মিস বাংলাদেশ ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারপারসন মেঘনা আলম। একইসঙ্গে দলটি থেকে ঢাকা-৮ আসনের মনোনয়ন ফরম সংগ্রহ করেন তিনি।
