Mercantile Bank holds ‘Annual Business Conference-2025’
Mercantile Bank’s ‘Annual Business Conference 2025’ was held today, January 11, at Le Meridien Hotel in the capital.
The conference was chaired by Anwarul Haque, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, and led by Managing Director Matiul Hasan.
The event was attended by the heads of 152 branches, in-charges of 45 sub-branches, deputy managing directors, department heads from the head office, regional heads, and senior executives.
Expressing gratitude to the branch, sub-branch, and department heads for their dedicated efforts in achieving the bank's overall goals, Anwarul Haque, as the chief guest, said, "Despite political changes in the country and ongoing global instability, Mercantile Bank's operating profit for 2024 met expectations."
Thanks to Managing Director Matiul Hasan for providing key directives to the branch heads, sub-branch in-charges, departmental, and regional heads regarding the actions needed to achieve the bank's business goals for 2025.
He also highlighted the crucial role of providing agricultural and SME loans to ensure food security and sustain a dynamic rural economy. Moreover, he called on everyone to intensify efforts towards adopting technology-driven smart banking and driving significant growth through innovation by improving the quality of customer service.
Vice Chairman Alhaj Akram Hossain (Humayun), Executive Committee Chairman M. A. Khan Belal, Risk Management Committee Chairman Mohammad Abdul Awal, Director and Mercantile Bank Securities Limited Chairman A. S. M. Firoz Alam, Director and Mercantile Exchange House (UK) Limited Chairman M. Amanullah, Director Alhaj Mosharraf Hossain, and Chief Financial Officer Dr. Tapas Chandra Pal also addressed the event as special guests.
Deputy Managing Directors Md. Zakir Hossain, Adil Raihan, Shamim Ahmed, Asim Kumar Saha, and Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain, along with other senior executives and officers were present there.
