Metro rail and intercity train services resume after Eid holidays
The public transport metro rail in the capital has resumed its operations after the Eid holidays. At the same time, Bangladesh Railway's intercity trains operating across the country have also started operating.
In a special announcement before Eid, the verified Facebook page of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the metro operator, announced that metro rail services will be closed only on the day of Eid ul Fitr 2025. Metro rail services will continue as usual on other days.
On the other hand, in an inter-ministerial meeting before Eid, Bangladesh Railway Director General Md. Afzal Hossain said that intercity train services will be closed across the country on Eid. The day-off of all trains before Eid will be canceled and will be effective again after Eid.
It was learned from inquiries at the Dhaka Railway Station that the first train of the day, the Tourist Express, left Dhaka Railway Station for Cox's Bazar at 6:15 am.
On the other hand, the first trip of the day, the Metro rail left Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 7:10 am. And the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am.
