Metro rail services suspended today

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, metro rail services in the capital have been suspended for the day. Operations will resume as usual on Sunday, June 8, according to official sources.

"Although metro rail services are closed on Eid day, trains will operate on the following day (June 8) from 8.00am, with a 30-minute interval between departures," Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) confirmed tfrough a notification.

From Monday (June 9), metro rail services will operate according to the public holiday schedule. This decision has already been communicated to passengers.

According to officials, although a portion of the capital’s residents have left Dhaka for Eid, train services are resuming partially from the day after Eid to facilitate travel for those who remain in the city.

A 10-day public holiday began on June 5 in observance of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
