Milestone probe commission's tenure extended by 23 days
The government has once again extended the tenure of the investigation commission formed into the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Diyabari, Uttara. The time has been extended by another 23 days, to October 16.
Cabinet Division on Tuesday (September 23) night issued a notification in this regard.
The nine-member commission headed by former secretary AKM Zafar Ullah Khan had been instructed to submit its investigation report to the government within four weeks. But, later the term was extended by a month earlier.
On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed in the Haider Ali Bhaban of the Milestone School and College campus. At least 34 people, including Flight Lieutenant Md. Towkir Islam, were killed in the accident. Of the dead, 27 were students of Milestone School.
