Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, will reopen classes on a limited scale starting Sunday, July 27, following the recent plane crash incident on its campus. Initially, only students from grades 9 to 12 will attend classes, with other grades resuming gradually in the coming weeks.

Shah Bulbul, the college’s public relations officer, confirmed the decision on Wednesday, July 23. He said the institution suffered a significant setback, and the phased reopening aims to support students’ mental well-being and recover from academic disruption.

On Monday, July 21, at 1:06 PM, a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed onto a building of the college in the Diabari area of Uttara, sparking a fire and causing numerous casualties. Classes were suspended immediately following the tragedy, and the incident caused panic among students present on campus.

After consultations with authorities and parents, the college decided on a gradual reopening plan. To prevent misinformation about the number of casualties, the college’s two advisors have instructed the establishment of a control room on campus, as stated by Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief advisor.
