Military Aircraft Crash at Milestone: Another child succumbs to burns

Another child has succumbed to burns after a military aircraft crashed at Milestone School and College in capital's Uttara. The child, named Zarif (14), was pronounced dead at 9:10am on Saturday. His death brings the total fatalities to 34.

Dr. Shaown Bin Rahman, the resident surgeon at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, said, “Zarif had burned 40% of his body, including his airways. He passed away while receiving treatment in the ICU.”

Shaown Bin Rahman also mentioned that 40 people are still receiving treatment. Among them, five are in critical condition and are being kept in the ICU. Ten people are in the CPR category, and another ten are in post-operative care in the intermediate category. Fifteen others are in stable condition.

It’s important to note that on Monday (July 21), a military aircraft crashed into a building on the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. The majority of the victims in this devastating accident, the worst military air crash in the country’s history, were children.
