The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has announced that any names proven to be fake in the lists of July martyrs and fighters will be removed, and a revised gazette will be published. The ministry also vowed to take legal action against those involved in submitting false information.

On Tuesday (September 16), the ministry issued a statement addressing recent media reports about fake July martyrs and fighters. It said such reports have prompted careful scrutiny.

The ministry manages the official gazette and other related activities for July martyrs and fighters, based on lists sent from the Ministry of Health’s Management Information System (MIS). The existing list has already been published in the gazette.

According to the ministry, names found to be fake have been verified and removed from the list, with the gazette updated accordingly. This verification process is ongoing.

The Directorate of July Mass Uprising is also investigating fake names reported in the media. Those confirmed as fraudulent will be removed, their names excluded from future gazettes, and legal measures will be taken.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an accurate and authentic record of July martyrs and fighters.
