Minor allegedly abducted again after filing rape case in Bogura

A schoolgirl who is a victim of alleged rape has reportedly been abducted again in Dhunat upazila of Bogura, following the filing of a case against the accused. Police are conducting operations to arrest the accused and rescue the victim.

According to police and local sources, a fifth-grade student of a local primary school in Nimgachhi union of Dhunat upazila was allegedly subjected to rape on the afternoon of August 4.

In connection with the incident, the victim's father filed a rape case on August 12 against Shah Alam, 42, son of Shahadat Pramanik of Nimgachhi union, at the Bogura District Child Violence Suppression Tribunal. Following the hearing, the court directed the Dhunat Police Station to register the complaint as a regular case and arrest the accused. In accordance with the court's directive, the case was officially recorded at the police station on Saturday night.

The case statement alleges that Shah Alam is a local grocery store owner. On August 4, when the minor girl went to his shop to buy soap and shampoo, Shah Alam lured her into his house under the pretext of having better-quality items inside. There, he allegedly raped her and recorded a video of the incident on a mobile phone.

When the girl was delayed in returning home, her mother went to the shop. Finding the shop closed, she proceeded to Shah Alam's house, where she heard her daughter screaming from inside. Before locals could rush to the scene upon hearing her cries, Shah Alam managed to escape, according to the complaint.

It is further alleged that upon learning about the filing of the case, Shah Alam abducted the girl again by luring her away from a road near his house on Friday afternoon.

The victim's mother stated that Shah Alam called her daughter inside under the guise of giving her better soap and shampoo and raped her. After learning that a case had been filed, he abducted her again, a matter that has been promptly reported to the police.

Dhunat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Atikul Islam stated that the court-directed case regarding the alleged rape of the schoolgirl has been formally recorded as a regular case at the station, and ongoing drives are underway to apprehend the accused and recover the abducted student.
