Mirza Abbas recovering well, likely to return in June

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas may return home in the first week of June after showing improvement in his physical condition following prolonged treatment and intensive care. His wife Afroza Abbas informed journalists at Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday, May 16.

Afroza Abbas said Mirza Abbas is gradually recovering under the close supervision of doctors. After various tests, his physical condition is much more stable than before, though he is still under special observation.

Doctors have advised adequate rest and rehabilitation treatment, Afroza Abbas said. Each stage of treatment is being monitored with great importance, and the medical team has expressed satisfaction with his physical progress.

Following doctors' advice, Mirza Abbas is also being moved around in a wheelchair outside the hospital for some time each day.

Well-wishers and party leaders and activists from the Malaysian expatriate community are visiting the senior BNP leader at the hospital. Mirza Abbas has been speaking with them and exchanging pleasantries.
