Mirza Abbas is showing signs of improvement, his family has said. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Singapore General Hospital. Family members have expressed hope that he may be moved to a cabin within a few days, following doctors' advice. His wife and President of the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal, Afroza Abbas, has requested prayers from the nation for his swift recovery. Abbas was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on March 11 after suddenly falling ill during Iftar. As his condition did not improve, he was later taken to Singapore by air ambulance on March 15.

মির্জা আব্বাস কিছুটা সুস্থতার দিকে আছেন বলে জানিয়েছে তার পরিবার। বর্তমানে তিনি সিঙ্গাপুর জেনারেল হাসপাতাল-এর করোনারি কেয়ার ইউনিট (সিসিইউ)-তে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছেন। পরিবারের সদস্যরা জানিয়েছেন, চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী কয়েক দিনের মধ্যেই তাকে কেবিনে স্থানান্তর করা সম্ভব হতে পারে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। তার দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনায় দেশবাসীর কাছে দোয়া চেয়েছেন স্ত্রী ও জাতীয়তাবাদী মহিলা দল-এর সভাপতি আফরোজা আব্বাস। উল্লেখ্য, গত ১১ মার্চ ইফতারের সময় হঠাৎ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লে প্রথমে তাকে এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। অবস্থার উন্নতি না হওয়ায় পরে ১৫ মার্চ এয়ার অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে করে তাকে সিঙ্গাপুরে নেওয়া হয়।
