Mirza Abbas shows medical progress, likely to return home anytime
Mirza Abbas, a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee and advisor to the Prime Minister, who is undergoing treatment in Malaysia, is gradually recovering. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter on Monday.
He said that on the advice of the doctor, Mirza Abbas walked in an open area and did light physical exercise with his wife Afroza Abbas after the therapy session on Monday morning.
Shairul Kabir Khan said, 'Mirza Abbas is regularly receiving foot therapy at the Pusat Rehabilitation Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Kebangsaan Perkeso Center in Malaysia. Doctors have advised him to continue regular therapy, walking and exercise.'
Party and family sources said that he will return home anytime.
Mirza Abbas suddenly fell ill during Iftar on March 11. He was initially admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital and underwent brain surgery there.
Later, on March 15, he was taken to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. After a month of treatment there, his condition improved. Then, on the advice of doctors, he was transferred to Prince Court Hospital in Malaysia for physiotherapy.
