BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has greeted BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman with flowers for the party's absolute victory in the election. The Secretary General extended his greetings at the BNP chairman's political office in Gulshan on Friday, February 13. According to announced results of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its alliance candidates have won 214 seats. On the other hand, the 11-party alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has secured 77 seats. Additionally, other parties and independent candidates have won eight seats. Although BNP has unofficially secured victory, the declaration of results for Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 constituencies has been suspended following court orders.

নির্বাচনে নিরঙ্কুশ জয়ের জন্য বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানকে ফুল দিয়ে শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছেন বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর। শুক্রবার (১৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি) গুলশানে বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যানের রাজনৈতিক কার্যালয়ে শুভেচ্ছা জানান মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর। উল্লেখ্য, ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ঘোষিত ফলে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি) ও তাদের জোটের প্রার্থীরা ২১৪টি আসনে জয় পেয়েছে। অন্যদিকে বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর নেতৃত্বাধীন ১১ দলীয় জোট পেয়েছে ৭৭টি আসন। এছাড়া অন্যান্য ও স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীরা জয়ী হয়েছেন ৮টি আসনে। বেসরকারিভাবে বিএনপি জয়লাভ করলেও আদালতের নির্দেশে স্থগিত রাখা হয়েছে চট্টগ্রাম-২ ও চট্টগ্রাম-৪ আসনের ফলাফল ঘোষণা।
