Miscreants break youth’s limbs, gouge out both eyes, dump him beside beel in Faridpur

Delowar Hossain, 35, a youth, has been left beside a beel after miscreants broke his limbs and gouged out both his eyes in Faridpur Sadar upazila. He was rescued in a critically injured condition from a paddy field beside Baitkumari Beel in Krishnanagar union on Monday morning (November 2). He was later admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Delowar Hossain is the son of Anwar Hossain of Madhabpur area in the union.

According to local sources, miscreants caught Delowar at some point on Sunday night and took him to a lonely area of Baitkumari Beel. There they tied his hands and legs and tortured him. At one stage they gouged out both his eyes and left him on the beel bank thinking him dead. Local people found him lying with hands and legs tied and bloodied on Monday morning.

Local UP member Shariful Islam said local people found Delowar lying unconscious while passing by the beel in the morning. Later they informed his family and police. Family members and local people rescued him and took him to hospital.

Krishnanagar Union Parishad Chairman Badsha Mia said Delowar’s family members had already rescued him and taken him to hospital before he reached the spot after receiving the information. It is locally known that Delowar was involved in theft. However, he does not know who tortured him in this manner.
