Miscreants torch 4 buses in Dhaka
Miscreants set fire to four passenger buses in the Dhaka city on Saturday night and Sunday morning ahead of 48 hours fresh blockade for ninth time enforced by the BNP-Jammat.
These fire incidents have taken place separately at three buses in Agargaon, Jatrabari and Demra and at one bus in Gulistan of the city as the law enforcers are continuing drives to arrest the arsonists.
Fire Service and Civil Defense media cell official Mohammad Shahjalal Sikder said "Miscreants torched a bus of Bhuiyan Paribahan in front of Agargaon Betar Bhaban around 11pm on Saturday... a bus of Padma line was set ablaze at 11.09pm at Gabtoli bus terminal and another bus was torched on Jatrabari-Demra road at 10.48pm on the same day."
"A total of four fire fighting units from Mohammadpur and Kalyanpur rushed to the spots and doused the fire with the help of local police," he added.
Apart from this, miscreants set fire to a passenger bus of Victor Paribahan at Fulbaria in Gulistan of the capital on Sunday at 2.30 pm. Two fire service units worked to extinguish the fire. Confirming this, Fire Service Officer Rasi Al Farooq said, 'We received information about a fire in a passenger bus in Gulistan's Fulbaria at noon. After receiving the information, two units were sent to the spot.
No causalities were reported during the fire incidents, said the fire service official.
