Missing female Awami League leader found dead

The body of a missing Awami League leader was recovered from the side of the highway expressway in Bhanga of Faridpur has been recovered.

The deceased woman has been identified as Awami League leader Hasina Parveen Minu, 46, police said.

Bhanga police recovered the body from the side of the highway expressway on Wednesday morning. Later, the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy and identification. Police confirmed her identity around 11 pm on Thursday.

According to police and family sources, Minu lives in Shantibag Bazar area of ​​Shajahanpur in Dhaka. She is the daughter of Mohiuddin Ahmed and Hosne Ara Begum. They also have homes in Narayanganj and Cumilla.

Bhanga police station sub-inspector Md. Mosharraf Hossain said that the body of a woman aged around 45 was recovered on Wednesday morning. Later, her identity was confirmed through contact with the family.

He further said that Minu was involved in Awami League politics. Her mobile phone was found switched off after she left her house on Tuesday (February 17). She has been missing since then.

Police said that legal action will be taken after unraveling the mystery of her death.
