Model Meghna Alam has been granted bail in a case filed for fraud and extortion at Dhaka's Dhanmondi Police Station. Dhaka's Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sanaullah issued the bail order after a hearing on Monday (April 28). According to court sources, Meghna was previously sent to jail on April 10 under the Special Powers Act of 1974 with a 30-day detention order. After her arrest, the court granted a 5-day remand in a fraud case filed at the Bhatara Police Station on April 12. The court granted her a 5-day remand on April 17, in the fraud and extortion case filed at Dhanmondi Police Station, and later, on April 22, the court extended her remand for another 4 days.

রাজধানীর ধানমণ্ডি থানার প্রতারণা ও চাঁদাবাজির অভিযোগে করা মামলায় জামিন পেয়েছেন মডেল মেঘনা আলম। সোমবার (২৮ এপ্রিল) ঢাকার অতিরিক্ত মেট্রোপলিটন ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মো. ছানাউল্ল্যাহের আদালত শুনানি শেষে এ আদেশ দেন। আদালত সূত্রে এই তথ্য জানা গেছে। এর আগে গত ১০ এপ্রিল বিশেষ ক্ষমতা আইনে ৩০ দিনের আটকাদেশ দিয়ে মডেল মেঘনা কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়। এছাড়া গ্রেপ্তারের পর গত ১২ এপ্রিল ভাটারা থানার প্রতারণা মামলায় দেওয়ান সমিরের পাঁচ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন আদালত। গত ১৭ এপ্রিল রাজধানীর ধানমণ্ডি থানার প্রতারণা ও চাঁদাবাজির অভিযোগে করা মামলায় তার পাঁচ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন আদালত। পরে গত ২২ এপ্রিল এ মামলায় তার আরও ৪ দিনের রিমান্ড দেওয়া হয়েছে।
