Mother and daughter found dead in Bogura

Police recovered the hanging bodies of a mother and her daughter from the same room in Sonatola upazila of Bogura.

The bodies were recovered on Friday afternoon, December 26, from their residence in Shicharpara village under Jorgacha union.

The deceased were identified as Chayna Begum, 35, wife of Kamruzzaman of Shicharpara village, and her daughter Khadija, 14.

The information was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge of Sonatola Police Station Kabir Hossain.

He said the bodies of both the mother and daughter were found hanging from the ceiling beam inside the same room, with ropes around their necks. The bodies were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura for autopsy.

The OC added that the exact cause of death would be known after receiving the post-mortem reports. However, preliminary suspicion suggests that they died by suicide.
