Mother, daughter electrocuted in Chapainawabganj

A tragic incident occurred early Wednesday morning in Nachol Upazila of Chapainawabganj where a mother and her daughter were electrocuted while charging a battery-operated auto-rickshaw.

The victims, Hawa Begum and her daughter Ayesha Khatun, were residents of Southpara in Nezampur Union. According to Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Nachol Police Station, the incident took place around 5:30 am.

Hawa Begum was electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a bag from the auto-rickshaw. Her daughter, Ayesha, was also electrocuted when she tried to save her mother. Both died on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and have initiated legal proceedings. Investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
