Mother, two children found dead in Bogura

Police have recovered the bodies of a woman and her two children in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogura. The mother was found hanging inside the house, while the slit-throated bodies of her two children were discovered beside her.

The three bodies were recovered on Tuesday, November 25, from their home in Kholisakandi village of the upazila. The deceased were identified as Sadia Akter, 25, wife of local resident Kajol, her three-year-old daughter Saifa, and her one-year-old son Saif.

Confirming the matter, Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam said the bodies had been sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZRMC) for post-mortem examination. An investigation is under way to determine what happened.

Family members of the deceased said they became suspicious when Sadia did not respond despite repeated calls in the morning. They later broke open the door and found all three bodies inside.

Locals suspect that Sadia may have killed her two children over a family dispute and then taken her own life. However, police say nothing can be confirmed until the investigation is complete.
