Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that if Jamaat comes to power, mothers' duty time will be curtailed to five hours.

He said: "A policy will be adopted for hiring women. Mothers will get full salary for five-hour duty."

"However, if any company is affected by this, the government will provide a three-hour subsidy to those companies," he added.

He also said that if women spend time at home instead of going to work, the government will honour those women.

He made this promise while addressing a rally as the chief guest. The event was organized at the Islami Bank Model School and College ground in Mirpur on Monday (November 10) night.

He said that the salary for 5-hour duty will be paid by the responsible employer and an additional payment for 3-hour will be provided by the government.

He also said that women who stay at home will be honored as 'Ratnagarbha Ma'. "Women will also have the opportunity to work full 8 hours if they want."

Shafiqur Rahman also said that if elected, the people will not have to go to him; rather, he himself will come forward to solve the problems of the people.

Regarding the responsibility of the youth, he said that the role of the youths is important in keeping the country clean by removing the garbage of the society.

He alleged that the country is plagued by various problems due to the lack of good education. "If Allah gives the opportunity", the Jamaat Ameer also pledged to 'change the sleeping society' by providing every child with good education.
