A motorcyclist named Ashiq was killed after being hit by a pickup van in the capital's Ramna area. Another youth named Md Rassel was injured in the accident. They were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in critical condition around 11pm on Friday (February 21), where the doctor on duty declared him dead. In-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital Police Camp Inspector Md Faruk confirmed the matter. He said, “The body has been kept in the hospital's emergency department morgue. Another person injured in the incident is undergoing treatment in the emergency department. We have informed the police station concerned.”

রাজধানীর রমনা এলাকায় পিকআপের ধাক্কায় আশিক নামে এক মোটরসাইকেল আরোহী নিহত হয়েছেন। আহত হয়েছেন মো. রাসেল নামে আরেক যুবক। শুক্রবার (২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি) রাত ১১টার দিকে গুরুতর আহত অবস্থায় তাদের ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের জরুরি বিভাগে নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালের পুলিশ ক্যাম্পের ইনচার্জ পরিদর্শক মো. ফারুক বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, মরদেহটি হাসপাতালের জরুরি বিভাগের মর্গে রাখা হয়েছে। এই ঘটনায় আহত আরও একজন জরুরি বিভাগে চিকিৎসাধীন। আমরা বিষয়টি সংশ্লিষ্ট থানা পুলিশকে জানিয়েছি।
