Motorcyclist dies in Uttara road crash

A motorcyclist lost his life in a road accident near the Jasim Uddin Road flyover in Uttara early Tuesday morning.

The victim, 26-year-old Fuad Hasan Hridoy, was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a pickup van and a CNG auto-rickshaw around 6:30 a.m. Eyewitnesses reported the vehicles were involved in a crash near the road divider by the flyover.

Passersby rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at approximately 8:15 AM.

Rajib Hossain, who accompanied Hridoy to the hospital, said the victim was en route to Mymensingh when he noticed the vehicles stranded on the road divider near the flyover. Hridoy was found injured and lying on the road after the collision.

Hridoy’s cousin, Tamjidul Islam, stated that the family hails from Khas Naogaon Islampur village in Naogaon Sadar Upazila. Hriday worked at a private company in Tongi, Gazipur, and was traveling from Tongi to Uttara when the accident occurred.

Md. Faruk, officer-in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the death and said the body has been sent to the morgue for postmortem examination.
