Motorcyclist killed in auto-rickshaw crash in Badda
A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the U-loop bridge in the capital's Middle Badda area. Another person was injured in the incident.
The identity of the deceased, a man approximately 25 years old, has not yet been confirmed. The accident occurred on Monday afternoon, March 30.
Witnesses said they heard a loud noise near the U-loop bridge and rushed over to find a man writhing on the road with a motorcycle lying nearby. Locals rescued the injured.
Badsha, a pedestrian working at a nearby shop, said he heard the noise and came to see what had happened.
According to locals, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw struck the motorcycle and fled the scene quickly.
One of the injured was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead. The other injured person was admitted to a local hospital.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the matter.
He said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue, and Badda Police Station has been informed.
