Musabbir killing: ‘Main shooter’ among three arrested
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested three suspects, including the ‘main shooter,’ in the killing of Mohammad Azizur Rahman, also known as Musabbir, former general secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal's Dhaka North unit.
The arrests were made late Friday (January 9) during multiple raids in Manikganj and Gazipur, a senior DB official said.
The arrested include the shooter, Zinat, a suspected planner, Billal, and one accomplice.
Mushabbir was shot dead on Wednesday in West Tejturi Bazar, opposite Star Kabab. His family filed a murder case on Thursday (January 8) at Tejgaon Police Station, naming five unidentified individuals as suspects.
Police said interrogations are ongoing, and investigations continue to identify all persons involved and uncover the full plan behind the murder.
