BNP candidate Md Nabi Ullah has been allotted the 'Dhaner Shish' symbol for the Dhaka-5 constituency in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election. Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Md Kamal Hossain has received the 'Daripalla' symbol in the same seat.

Both candidates received official letters confirming their electoral symbols from the Dhaka Divisional Office on Wednesday (January 21) morning.

Speaking to reporters, Nabi Ullah said he was contesting an election after 18 years and would launch an extensive campaign from Thursday. “People are highly enthusiastic about voting. I am a resident of Dhaka-5, and the people love me. Insha’Allah, I will emerge victorious,” he said.

Reacting after receiving the symbol, 'Daripalla' candidate Mohammad Kamal Hossain said he would begin his campaign focusing on those injured during the July movement. “I congratulate all the people. If a fair and neutral election is held, the 'Daripalla' will win,” he added.
