Posts, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam has directed the authorities concerned to cancel the unnecessary projects of Aspire to Innovate (a2i). He issued the directive while visiting the a2i headquarters in ICT Tower in the capital on Wednesday (September 4), said a press release. The adviser said that initiatives taken by a2i should reach the county’s people and innovative energy has to be used. He asked the officials to see that no complaint would come about the work of a2i. Nahid Islam said that several investigation committees have been formed to see the irregularities and corruption of a2i. “The investigation process should be impartial and transparent,” he added. Mentioning that the youth-folk of Bangladesh will be engaged in the information technology sector, he said, if necessary, an advisory team will be formed consisting of all the Bangladeshi IT experts who are working as magnetic-force in different countries of the world. “The youths will be utilised as per their suggestions,” he said.

অপ্রয়োজনীয় এটুআই প্রকল্প দ্রুত বাদ দেওয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন ডাক, টেলিযোগাযোগ ও তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি উপদেষ্টা মো. নাহিদ ইসলাম। বুধবার (৪ সেপ্টেম্বর) ঢাকায় আইসিটি টাওয়ারে এটুআইয়ের প্রধান কার্যালয় পরিদর্শনের সময় তিনি এই নির্দেশ দেন বলে এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়। উপদেষ্টা নাহিদ ইসলাম বলেন, ‘ছাত্র–জনতার রক্তের বিনিময়ে আমরা নতুন বাংলাদেশ পেয়েছি। সেই রক্তের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা রেখে আমাদের কাজ করতে হবে। এটুআইয়ের কাজের ব্যাপারে যেন কোনো অভিযোগ না আসে, সেই দিকে খেয়াল রাখতে হবে।’ তিনি বলেন, এটুআই কর্তৃক গৃহীত উদ্যোগগুলো দেশের মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছাতে হবে। উদ্ভাবনী শক্তি কাজে লাগাতে হবে। বাংলাদেশের যুবসমাজকে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি খাতে সম্পৃক্ত করা হবে উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন, প্রয়োজনে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে যেসব বাংলাদেশি তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি বিশেষজ্ঞ হিসেবে কাজ করছে, তাদের সমন্বয়ে অ্যাডভাইজরি টিম করা হবে। তাদের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী তরুণদের কাজে লাগানো হবে। অনেকে ব্যক্তি উদ্যোগে বা গ্রুপভিত্তিক ভালো উদ্ভাবনী কাজ করছে, তাদের পরামর্শ দিলে সেটাও তাদের কাজে আসবে বলে মন্তব্য করেন উপদেষ্টা। নাহিদ ইসলাম বলেন, এটুআইয়ের অনিয়ম দুর্নীতি নিয়ে একাধিক তদন্ত কমিটি করা হয়েছে, সেই তদন্ত প্রক্রিয়া যেন নিরপেক্ষ এবং স্বচ্ছ হয়। তিনি বলেন, ‘দেশে যে রাজনৈতিক ধারা অব্যাহত আছে তা সংস্কার প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি রাষ্ট্র কাঠামোর সংস্কারও করতে হবে। আমাদের রাষ্ট্র কাঠামো এক ব্যক্তিকেন্দ্রিক হয়ে গেছে। এখানে সংবিধান প্রধানমন্ত্রীকেই এমন ক্ষমতা দিয়েছে, যা সীমাহীন। আমরা সকলের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করে এই ধারা পরিবর্তন করতে চাই।’
